man looking at social media on his phone

Are your social media captions looking a bit drab? Are they receiving little to no engagement? Well today is your lucky day because we have three things to help spice up your captions and have your engagement numbers going through the roof! 🔥

1. Add Emojis – Who doesn’t love a fun emoji?! Adding in appropriate emojis makes your text light-hearted and fun. They will help your post gain more visibility. When scrolling through their feed, people tend to stop and look when there are emojis present in a caption. We suggest adding two to three emojis in every post caption (don’t go crazy now 🤪). Facebook allows you to search for emojis when drafting a post, but you can also use Emojipedia if there is a specific emoji you want to use but can’t seem to find. If you’re unsure which ones will match the theme of your content or none just seem to make sense, we suggest using the party popper, sparkle, or star. These options will add some excitement around your content.

2. Add Hashtags – Adding one or two relevant hashtags to your Facebook and Twitter captions and up to ten hashtags to your Instagram captions will spread the visibility of your posts. Use a mix of branded hashtags along with fun, everyday ones (examples would be #PipelineSocialMedia and #MarketingTips). But first, be sure to research the hashtags you want to incorporate to ensure they are popular and highly searched. It would be pointless to add one that no one will ever see. We suggest using a site that can help you narrow down top hashtags, like Hashtagify. Expand your audience and get more reach when you use the right hashtags!

3. Use Bolded Fonts – Bolding and/or italicizing a word or line of your font will make your social media post stand out. We suggest using LingoJam for this. It’s free and easy to use! Just copy/paste your text and LingoJam generates multiple font options for you to choose from. Bolded or italicized text is great when using quotes or customer reviews in your captions. It also helps to use it for specific words that you want your followers to notice and grab their attention. For example, if you are a coffee company and want to highlight your newest drink, this would be great to bold. If you are promoting a new music album or book, italicizing the title would look very professional. Be sure to stick with the same or similar font choices so they are streamlined across all of your posts and channels.

And there you have it! Your posts are ready to make waves with your followers. 🌊
