One of the biggest questions in regards to running a successful Facebook business page is when is the best time to post. The quickest and easiest way to discover when the best time to post to your Facebook page is to look at the “Insights” section of your business page.
After clicking the “Insights” section, look for the list of options on the left-hand side of the page. Click on the section that says “Posts.”
At the top, you will see the number of fans that are on Facebook each day of the week. At the bottom, you see the time of day your fans are online. This graph changes every day as it shows you the recent 1-week period; the times are in your computer’s local timezone. By this graph, we can tell that Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are the most popular days of the week for our fans to be on Facebook. We can also see the overall pattern of times when our fans are on Facebook. We can find out more information by hovering over a particular day.
When you hover a certain day, you can see more specific data. For instance, see what happens when we hover over Saturday.
From this, we can see that the data follows the overall graph (from the first screenshot of the graph) for the most part, but there are some differences. You see there is a peak right at the 6pm mark. What we believe at Pipeline is that you want to post as the graph is peaking for several hours. So we would post anytime between 6pm-7pm based on this graph. Try posting at different times, even when fans are less active. The only way to truly figure out when you should post is by trial and error. Track and monitor the times you post and see what times work best. We suggest to check this section before you schedule a post or publish directly.
