STOCKBRIDGE, Ga.- The Dominican Republic is 1,341 miles away from Stockbridge, Georgia. Distance; however, doesn’t stop Pipeline Social Media from caring for the less fortunate in this country.

Pipeline is sponsoring 12 children from the Dominican Republic through Compassion International. Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.

Keith Mather, Partner and Executive Officer of Pipeline, is very passionate about the cause.

“In life, it’s important to focus on what you have, not what you don’t. Although we may be a small business, we can help those in need. We hope that when we are faithful with what’s in our hand now, we will eventually be in a place where we can help more children. As our company grows, so does the number of children we sponsor and the bigger the impact we can make in the world. Matthew 25:21 states “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much,” Mather said.

Each Pipeline employee has an individual child, ranging in age from 4-8 years old, that they will be communicating with by periodically sending letters. All of the sponsored children are from the same community called Tamboril. The most common language in this area is Spanish and the diet consists of beans, chicken, fish, bread, plantains and rice. The sponsorship will allow each child to have Bible teaching, nutritious meals, medical exams, cultural programs, uniforms, tutoring, educational classes and much more.

“We received a letter from our child, and we’ve had the opportunity to write them back! I enjoy having the opportunity to help a child in need,” Jessica Ammons, Pipeline Senior Community Manager, said.

As a daily reminder, each employee has their child’s photo on their desk. While it is a simple gesture, it is used as a remembrance that there are those out there who need our help. A sponsorship, and even a prayer, is exactly what these children are hoping for.

“We are so happy to do what we love and be able to help people along the way,” said Leslie Wilkins, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Pipeline. “Giving back to our sponsored children each month will help provide care for the children as well as keep our hearts humble and focused on the things that really matter in life.”
