On Saturday, August 8th, the Pipeline team and family members gathered together for the Crosswalk Ministries’ Freedom Run 5k in Mcdonough, GA. Our team members volunteered in a variety of areas, such as registration, course marshal, and t-shirt distributors. We also had some team members participate by running in the race!

The event was benefitting the expansion of ARTreach 180 – an after school program for at-risk youth. Crosswalk Ministries provides programs for youth to have the freedom to express their emotions through art, drama, music, and open discussion of issues they face. The ultimate goal is for these teens to maintain freedom from any further involvement with the juvenile system.

Pipeline had a sponsor booth at the event where we passed out a variety of promotional materials. We had specially made brochures and pens for the occasion! In addition, we had cornhole boards for guests to have a chance to win an ice cold Gatorade and donut holes from Dunkin Donuts (The perfect after race snack is donuts, by the way). We even had a special appearance by Queen Elsa!

A big congratulations to all runners that participated in the race. A special shout out goes to our own team and family members, who placed at the race! Brad Sinclair, Keith Mather, and Keith Thompson all came in first place in their respective age groups. Elaine Thompson came in second place in her age group. We are so proud of our team!

Thank you to Crosswalk Ministries for hosting such a great event and allowing us to take part in it. If you don’t know what Crosswalk is doing for our community, please visit their website at www.crosswalkusa.org.
